HC Deb 12 June 1903 vol 123 c759
MR. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that religious tracts and newspapers are in several police barracks in Belfast placed in the common room of the barracks; and whether, in view of the fact that this is a violation of one of the rules of the constabulary code, he will issue instructions to have the rule strictly enforced.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) Religious journals have been placed in two police barracks in Belfast, and were at once, in accordance with the regulations, taken possession of by the sergeants in charge.
