§ MR. CHARLES HOBHOUSEI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he has any reason to believe that certain British officers are in the hands of the Somali Mullah; and whether preparations are being made for the active resumption of hostilities in that country.
LORD STANLEYThe War Office has received no official information to the effect that certain British officers are prisoners in the hands of the Mullah. As regards future movements it has been necessary to give considerable orders for camels to replace wastage, and to enable General Manning's force to carry out the concentration on Bohotle.
