LOUGH (Islington, W.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether there is a protective duty on matches entering the Colony of British Guiana; and if so, whether the duty applies to matches made in the United Kingdom; and whether there is more than one match factory in British Guiana.
§ MR. J. CHAMBERLAINThe answer to the first two questions is in the affirmative. As regards the third there is no recent information, but I am not aware that there is more than one such factory.
