HC Deb 10 June 1903 vol 123 c441
Mr. WEIR

To ask the President of the Local Government Board, whether his attention has been called to a motorcar accident at East Tisted, near Alton, on the 25th ultimo, when a flock of sheep was run into and the shepherd sustained a fractured leg; and will he say whether the local authorities have any instructions from the Local Government Board to enforce the law with regard to the speed of motor-cars.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) I have not seen any report of the accident to which the hon. Member refers. The enforcement of the law with regard to the speed of motor-cars is ordinarily a matter for the police. The local authorities have received no instructions from my Department on the subject.
