To ask the Secretary of State for War if he can state if officers who have served as Colonial Commandants have or will receive appointments in higher ranks on their return.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) It is not clear to what class of officers the hon. Member refers, but the question of any perferment of officers in charge of purely colonial forces would naturally rest with the colonial governments concerned.
