To ask the Secretary of State for War, whether he can give any information as to the area of the manœuvre ground in September, giving the extreme points east and west, the numbers of troops to be employed, and the duration of the operations.

(Answered by Secretary Brodrick.) The area of the manœuvre ground comprises all Oxfordshire and Berkshire, Hampshire, excluding the New Forest and the Isle of Wight, and the northern portion of Wiltshire, thus lying between, Windsor on the east, Bradford-on-Avon on the west, Banbury on the north, and Portsmouth on the south. The troops will be taken from the 1st and 2nd Army Corps. The operations will he for the period of a week, and will probably begin on 6th September.
