HC Deb 30 July 1903 vol 126 c902
MR. KENNEDY (Westmeath, N.)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that on the 25th instant an officer attached to the Westmeath Militia was dangerously wounded during target practice at the butts on Maryborough Heath; and whether he will cause steps to be taken to protect those there engaged.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) A Court of Inquiry on this matter is now sitting. Special instructions had been issued and notices posted warning persons concerned that the earth wall connecting the butts was not bullet proof.
