WEIRI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, in view of the fact that France, equally with other countries of Europe, will benefit through any information in regard to fish habits that may be gained under the International Scheme of North Sea Fisheries Investigation, will the British Government consider the expediency of inviting the French Government to participate in the scheme.
§ LORD CRANBORNEBy desire of the Conference which met at Stockholm in June, 1899, an invitation was addressed by Sweden to the French Government to participate in the investigation. The French Government, however, felt themselves unable to accept the invitation.
