HC Deb 28 July 1903 vol 126 cc532-3
MR. SCHWANN (Manchester, N.)

To ask the Postmaster-General if it be intended to increase the remuneration of the sub-postmasters, owing to the extra labour and responsibility involved in the issue of the new additional postal orders.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) It is not intended to increase the remuneration of sub - postmasters for postal order work; but I may state that I am considering the general question of their remuneration, with the view especially of benefiting those at the very small offices.
