To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he can give the value and quantity of Canadian foodstuffs shipped through American ports during the months of last winter in which the Canadian ports were icebound and can he also state whether these exports are allowed to pass through American territory free of duty.

(Answered by Mr. Gerald Balfour.) The answer to the first part of the Question is in the negative; these exports are allowed to pass through American territory free of duty under bond.
