To ask the Postmaster-General how many postmen now receive allowances, other than supervising allowances, and the total sum of money so expended.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) It would be a troublesome and expensive work to furnish a comprehensive list of the allowances referred to, and I do not think the expense would be justified by the result.
