MR. HERBERT ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to a coolie riot which occurred on 19th May last at a tea garden in Assam, in consequence of which forty-two coolies have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment; and whether he can supply 1445 information as to the causes which led to this outbreak.
