HC Deb 21 July 1903 vol 125 cc1299-300
MR. MARSHALL HALL (Lancashire, Southport)

To ask the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the recent accident at the Waterloo Station of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, he will take such steps as he deems necessary to secure the safety of the public before the process of electrification of that portion of this company's railway system is completed.

(Answered by Mr. Gerald Balfour.) An inquiry into the causes of the accident will be held this week on behalf of the Board of Trade. At present I have no information that the accident was due in any way to the process of electrification of a portion of the railway company's lines.
