§ MR. BLACKI beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the fact that the Government has now intimated to Germany that in certain events it will impose retaliatory or differential 1315 duties on importations into this country, whether he has any information as to the probable effect of such duties upon the national revenue as regards income tax and death duties.
§ *MR. RITCHIEI have exercised all the ingenuity I can command in the endeavour to find out the connection between retaliatory duties against Germany and the death duties and I have not been able to discover it.
