WEIRTo ask the Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that experiments are being made with automobile cars for the purpose of conveying produce and merchandise between the various villages and stations in Bengal starting from Calcutta along the Grand Trunk Road; and will the Government of India call for a Report as to how far these experiments have succeeded.
(Answered by Secretary Lord George Hamilton.) I have no information on the subject. If the experiments are considered by the Government of India to be of importance they will doubtless see that all material information regarding them is collected by the local authorities.
