§ MR. BONAR LAWSo far as the figures are available the hon. Member will find the particulars he requires for the years from 1830 to 1840 inclusive in Parts VIII. and X. of the "Tables of the Revenue, Population, Commerce, etc., of the United Kingdom," and for subsequent years in the "Reprint of the Statistical Abstract for the United Kingdom" for 1840 to 1854, issued in 1870, and in the 17th, 19th, 34th and 49th issues of the same publication. The values of imports before 1854 cannot be compared with those after that date owing to a change in the mode of valuation.
