HC Deb 07 July 1903 vol 124 c1524
MR. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether, seeing that the petrol used for motor-cars is a purely foreign product, experiments will be made by the Department of Agriculture with a view to supplanting its use by alcohol extracted from Irish-grown beetroot and potatoes.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The matter is engaging the attention of the Department.
