§ MR. MACVEAGHI beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will grant a Return showing the total quantity of malt and grain whisky distilled during last year from pot and patent stills respectively; also a Return showing the quantity of patent-still spirit despatched duty paid and under bond from England to Scotland for the same period for the purpose of being made up as whisky.
§ *MR. RITCHIEI am afraid I cannot grant the suggested Returns. The Board of Inland Revenue have no official information on the matters referred to. Their Returns do not distinguish between pot-still and patent-still spirits.
