HC Deb 06 July 1903 vol 124 c1394
MR. TULLY (Leitrim, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any negotiations have taken place with the Canadian Government with a view to making Galway the port of call for the new Transatlantic line of steamers subsidised by the Canadian Government; and, if so, whether he can state the position in which these negotiations now stand.

MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN (for Mr. J. CHAMBERLAIN)

No negotiations have taken place. I understand that the result of the tenders for a new Transatlantic Service was not successful.
