§ MR. WEIRTo ask the Secretary of State for India if he will state the number of agricultural banks which have been established in India and where they are situated; and has he any Reports showing the results of this experiment.
(Answered by Secretary Lord George Hamilton.) I am unable to state how many agricultural banks have been, established in India. The number is, however, inconsiderable, and they are on a purely experimental footing. I propose to lay upon the Table the Report of the 1173 Committee appointed to report on the subject of agricultural banks in India.
