To ask the Secretary of State for India what is the total amount of annual interest remitted on loans to Indian Princes, and by whom will the charge for this interest be borne.

(Answered by Secretary Lord George Hamilton.) The total amount of interest recently remitted on the occasion of the Delhi Durbar on loans granted to or raised by Native States is eleven lakhs a year for three years. The charge resulting from the measure will be borne by the revenues of India.
