HC Deb 05 August 1903 vol 126 cc1582-3
MR. KEIR HARDIE (Merthyr Tydvil)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will make representations to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury in favour of having the same special relief given to the workmen employees of the War Office as is referred to in the circular issued on 20th May with reference to leave to attend Volunteer camps, and which applies to Civil servants only.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Brodrick.) This question has been very carefully considered, but it has not been found possible to extend the grant of special leave with pay to the large number of Government employees who would be affected.
