§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether there is any kind of examination for candidates desirous of entering the service of the Government of the Soudan; and, if not, will he direct the Governor-General to arrange for some educational test, especially as regards a knowledge of Arabic.
§ LORD CRANBORNEThere is at present no examination for candidates desirous of entering the service of the Government of the Soudan. The matter is under consideration.
