To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he can state the rate of increase in the population of the Dominion of Canada between 1891 and 1901, and how it compares with the rate of increase in Great Britain during the same period.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Chamberlain.) The increase in the population of the Dominion of Canada in the 10 years 1891 to 1901 was 11.14 per cent. The increase in the population of the United Kingdom during the same period was 9.9 per cent.
