HC Deb 30 April 1903 vol 121 cc942-3
MR. HARMSWORTH (Caithness-shire)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if he can state how many men employed in the Royal dockyards are on the mobilisation list.

(Answered by Mr. Arnold-Forster.) It is not considered desirable in the public interest to give the precise information for which the hon. Member asks. The Admiralty, however, are fully alive to the importance of keeping a careful check on the numbers and occupations of pensioners and Royal Fleet reserve men employed in the Royal dockyards. Steps are being taken to ensure that in the event of mobilisation for war, the number of men required for the service of the Fleet will be available, and that, at the same time, there will be no unforeseen dislocation of the work of the dockyards.
