HC Deb 30 April 1903 vol 121 c959
MR. HAYDEN (Roscommon, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the tradesmen employed in Dundrum Criminal Lunatic Asylum are compelled to work every second week for ninety-nine hours fifty-five minutes, and for seventy-seven and a half hours during each of the other weeks; and that they have to discharge the duties of attendant during portion of the day, in addition to performing their work as tradesmen; and whether he will cause inquiry into the matter, with the object of limiting their duty to the work of their respective trades and lessening their hours of labour.

MR. ATKINSON

I have called for a Report on this matter, but, not having yet received it, will ask the hon. Member to postpone the Question till tomorrow.
