HC Deb 24 April 1903 vol 121 c358
MR. DUNCAN (Yorkshire, W.R., Otley)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if tenders are publicly invited for the carriage of Government stores to South Africa from all British steamship companies trading with that country.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Chamberlain.) I have no control over stores shipped for the self-governing Colonies of the Cape I and Natal, but the Crown Agents are under my instructions, taking steps to call for public tenders for the transport of freight for the Colonial Governments of the Transvaal and the Orange River Colony, and for the Central South African Railways after July next.
