HC Deb 08 April 1903 vol 120 c1356
MR. FIELD (Dublin, St. Patrick)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware of the position of town tenants, inhabitant householders, and tenement occupiers in Kingstown, South Dublin, and of the fact that the township leases generally will terminate in May; and will he consider the advisability of taking steps to enable town tenants to remain in their holdings until negotiations are concluded, and inhabitant householders and tenement occupiers to continue in possession until housing accommodation is provided.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. WYNDHAM,) Dover

The leases of a large number of dwellings in Kings town will expire next month. Fears have been expressed that the houses will forthwith be demolished and the tenants evicted. The agents over the property assure me, however, that these fears are groundless.
