HC Deb 07 April 1903 vol 120 c1253
MR. CROMBIE (Kincardineshire)

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether the Scotch Education Department will consider the advisability of cancelling the provision in Circular 340 which prevents a candidate for a leaving certificate selecting French and German for his group unless he takes Latin as well.

THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. A. GRAHAM MURRAY,) Buteshire

A full explanation of the position of the Department was given in Circular 375, and in view of the special provision there made for pupils who do not contemplate a University course, no further action appears to be necessary.
