§ MR. CROMBIE (Kincardineshire)I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether the Scotch Education Department will consider the advisability of cancelling the provision in Circular 340 which prevents a candidate for a leaving certificate selecting French and German for his group unless he takes Latin as well.
§ THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. A. GRAHAM MURRAY,) ButeshireA full explanation of the position of the Department was given in Circular 375, and in view of the special provision there made for pupils who do not contemplate a University course, no further action appears to be necessary.
