HC Deb 07 April 1903 vol 120 cc1250-1
MR. LUKE WHITE (Yorkshire, E.R., Buckrose)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether in counties the liabilities of School Boards up to the appointed day under the Education Act will be apportioned and charged on each School Board district; and whether the proportion of grant, up to such appointed day together with any credit balance, will be allocated to the credit of each such district.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. WALTER LONG,) Bristol, S.

I have submitted a case for the opinion of the Law Officers of the Crown on certain financial points which have arisen in connection with the Act. I expect to receive the opinion very shortly, and I hope then to be in a

position to furnish the hon. with a reply to his Question.
