HC Deb 30 October 1902 vol 113 cc1185-6
MAJOR RASCH (Essex, Chelmsford)

To ask the Secretary to the Board of Education whether, in the event of the new Board of Managers getting rid of a teacher on account of age, provision will be made that he should not lose any benefit under the School Teachers' Superannuation Act.

(Answered by Sir William Anson.) It is not proposed to insert in the Education Bill such a provision as the hon. Member suggests. The case of a teacher who has become permanently incapable, owing to infirmity of mind or body, of being an efficient teacher in a public elementary school is provided for by Section 2 of the Elementary School Teachers (Superannuation) Act.
