HC Deb 29 October 1902 vol 113 c1060
DR. THOMPSON (Monaghan, N.)

To ask the Postmaster General if he is aware that several years ago the post office in Clones was condemned as unsanitary and unsuitable for the work of the Department; will he explain the delay in building the new post office, and investigate the complaints of the employees as to the change in the hours they are required to be on duty.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) The old insanitary office at Clones was given up in November last, and a good temporary office is in occupation pending the completion of the new permanent building, the plans for which have been approved. It is understood that the building will be begun shortly. Complaints recently received from the staff with regard to their hours of duty are being investigated.
