HC Deb 22 October 1902 vol 113 cc462-3
SIR SEYMOUR KING (Hull, Central)

To ask the Secretary of State for India if he will say whether Government servants who took privilege leave in order to join the Indian Volunteer Contingent which came home for the Coronation have been informed that they will not receive any pay for the extra period of their detention at home in consequence of the King's illness; and on what grounds this decision has been arrived at.

(Answered by Secretary Lord George Hamilton.) I am not aware that any such action has been taken by the Government of India, but I will make inquiries.
