To ask the First Lord of the Treasury if ministers of religion, who are precluded by law from serving on Town Councils, will be deprived by the Education Bill of the possibility of serving on the central educational authority.

(Answered by Mr. A. J. Balfour.) Clergymen of the Church of England, Priests of the Roman Catholic Church, and Nonconformist Ministers—(a) Can be members of County Councils; (b) Cannot be members of Town Councils; (c) Can be members of the Education Committee of the local education authority.
