§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Lord Advocate, in view of the fact that a Circular was issued by the Scottish Education Department several years since to the effect that school children should no longer be required to carry peats with them to school for the purpose of providing the class-rooms with fires, will he state why there are numerous schools in the Island of Lewis where that Circular is disregarded.
§ * THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. A. GRAHAM MURRAY, Buteshire)No complaint, with respect to the practice in question, has been addressed to the Department by the parents of any children, but my Lords will communicate with the School Boards, and call their attention to the terms of their Circular of January, 1894.
