SIR HENRY FOWLER (Wolverhampton, E.)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the amount which has been received for import duties on corn and sugar, and for export duties on coal during the three quarters of the present financial year which expired on the 30th September last.

(Answered by Mr. Ritchie.) One-half only of the financial year had expired on the 30th September, and the amounts collected during that period were as follows:—

Corn, etc. £1,183,337
Sugar 1,991,852
Coal 963,365
