To ask the Secretary of State for India whether he is possession of any agricultural statistics which will enable him to compare the acreage of land cultivated in the several provinces of India at the present time with the acreage cultivated in any year subsequent to 1890; and, if so, will he quote the figures.

(Answered by Secretary Lord George Hamilton.) The cropped acreage for surveyed tracts in the several provinces was returned in 1890–1891 and 1900–1901, respectively, as follows:—
