HC Deb 13 November 1902 vol 114 c860
MR. MANSFIELD (Lincolnshire. Spalding)

To ask the Secretary to the Board of Education if he will say whether, in the event of the Education Bill now before Parliament becoming law, the managers of voluntary schools will be allowed to appropriate for their own purposes, that is, to the upkeep of the school buildings, etc., any credit balances they may have in hand at the time of the adoption of the Act.

(Answered by Sir William Anson.) Understanding by "their own purposes" the purposes for which the managers have to make provision in the Bill, the answer is in the affirmative.
