HC Deb 13 November 1902 vol 114 cc862-3
DR. THOMPSON (Monaghan, N.)

To ask Mr. Attorney General for Ireland † See page 453. whether his attention has been directed to the delays in. cases pending trial in the Dublin Four Courts, especially in the Court of the Lord Chief Justice; and if he will take steps to prevent a continuance of this delay.

(Answered by Mr. Atkinson.) My attention has not been called to any cases of delays in pending trials. As far as I have been able to ascertain no such delays exist. It is open to any person who alleges he has been delayed to apply to the Court to expedite the hearing of his case. As far as I have been able to ascertain no such applications have been made. I have no power to interfere as suggested, and if I had the power the occasion does not appear to have arisen for the exercise of it.
