HC Deb 11 November 1902 vol 114 c587
MR. OSMOND WILLIAMS (Merionethshire)

To ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether all income at present received by the managers of voluntary schools, including endowments, will under the Bill now before the House be paid to the local authority; if so, whether the local authority would be able to utilise any undenominational endowments in providing scholarships from primary to secondary schools; and if under the Bill such endowments are not to be paid to the local authority, whether he will introduce a Clause to that effect.

(Answered by Mr. A. J. Balfour.) No general answer can be given concerning the income now received by managers, as each case must depend on its own particular circumstances The question of endowments is already dealt with in the Government Clause now on the Paper.
