§ SIR MARK STEWART (Kirkcudbrightshire)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture if it is the intention of the Government to pass this session the Butterine Bill, which was read a second time on 25th June.
§ THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (Mr. HANBURY, Preston)I propose to reintroduce the Butterine Bill early next Session, and to take the Second Reading and the reference to a Standing Committee before Easter. I propose at the same time to shorten the period between the passing of the Bill and the date at which it will come into operation.
§ SIR EDWARD STRACHEY (Somersetshire, S.)May I ask whether, having regard to the feeling expressed by various agricultural bodies, the right hon. Gentleman will introduce the Bill under the title of Adulterated Butter Bill.
