HC Deb 04 November 1902 vol 114 cc5-6
MR. H. C. RICHARDS (Finsbury, E.)

To ask the hon. Member for West Salford, as representing the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, whether the vacancy of All Hallows, Lombard Street, has been brought to his knowledge; and if the Commissioners will take steps to secure the appointment of the necessary Commission, under the Union of Benefices Act, to amalgamate one or more of the three parishes in Lombard Street within the City of London.

(Answered by Mr. Lees Knowles.) The initial proceedings under the Union of Benefices Act have to be taken by the Bishop of London. When the proposal, with the necessary assents, reaches the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, they will, I feel sure, do all in their power to facilitate an amalgamation.
