HC Deb 03 November 1902 vol 113 cc1381-2
MR. SHACKLETON (Lancashire, Clitheroe)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will consider the advisability of prescribing, under Clause 7, Section 2. of the Factory and Workshops Act, 1901, a standard of sufficient ventilation in cotton-weaving sheds, other than those in which the humidity of the atmosphere is artificially produced.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Akers Douglas.) The question is one which I shall have to consider at an early date. The subject of ventilation in factories and workshops has been for some time under inquiry; and a very important Report has been laid before Parliament, which will be published within a few days.
