§ MR. P. A. M'HUGHI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether, in view of the urgency of the question, he will take steps at an early date to give effect to the recommendation of the 193 Royal Commission on Local Taxation that a small Commission should be appointed to determine what roads in Ireland should be entered in the category of main roads with a view to subvention for their maintenance.
§ MR. WYNDHAMNo, Sir. A condition precedent to the appointment of a Commission would be the provision of a grant in aid for the purpose mentioned. No such grant has yet been provided by Parliament.
