§ MR. WEIR (ROSS and Cromarty)To ask the Lord Advocate if he will state the probable outlay which the completion of the road between Carloway and Stornoway would necessitate; and the I length of the road which is still incomplete.
(Answer.) I am informed by the engineer of the Scottish Office that of the new road between Stornoway and Carlo-way, 8 miles have been completed, 4⅔ miles have been partially made, and 3⅓ miles are entirely unmade. He estimates the cost of finishing the road throughout at not less than £10,000.—(Scottish Office.)
