§ MR. LODER (Brighton)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government propose to appoint a Select Committee to consider the subject of Private Bill Legislation, having regard to the effect the new Rules will have on the time set apart for Private Business.

BALFOURYes, Sir as I think I stated in almost the original speech in which I introduced the Rules, it is the opinion of the Government that there should be a Committee to inquire into Private Bill procedure, having in view the changes we propose to make in the hours at which private business can come on.
