§ COLONEL LUCAS (Suffolk, Lowestoft)On behalf of the hon. Member for Central Sheffield, I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury if, having regard to the new requirements of the War Office in the matter of attendance at camp every year by all Volunteers, he will have directions issued to all public Departments that extra leave for the purpose, is to be given when at all possible to civil servants who are Volunteers, bearing in mind that this concession is accorded by certain other large employers.

The Treasury have assented, subject to the discretion of heads of Departments, to the grant of special leave without civil salary not exceeding a fortnight to civil servants who are Volunteers and who attend special camps for a minimum period of a fortnight.
