HC Deb 13 March 1902 vol 104 c1272
MR. FORSTER (Kent, Sevenoaks)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board if he will state the number of urban sanitary authorities in the United Kingdom from which he has received resolutions advocating the repeal of Clause 2 of the Vaccination Act of 1898, relating to the conscientious objector; and what steps, if any, he proposes to take to carry out the policy advocated by them.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. WALTER LONG,) Bristol, S.

I have received resolutions of this nature from 251 urban sanitary authorities. The Vaccination Act, 1898, will expire at the end of 1903, and the question of its renewal will have to be considered next year. In the mean-time, I do not propose to take steps for the repeal of the section referred to.
