I beg to ask the Financial Secretary to the War Office if he will state the amount spent for the purchase of remounts during the war upon horses, mules, and oxen respectively.

As the amounts paid for transport animals are bulked together, the information would have to be extracted laboriously from the various accounts, and I am not prepared to throw this extra and unnecessary work on the Accounts Department.
