I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India if he will grant the Return relating to the Imperial Service Force (East India), notice for which stands on to-day's Paper.†

†The Return referred to was as follows— Address for Return showing (a) the numbers and description of the troops known as the Imperial Service Force, placed at the disposal of the Government of India by the Princes and Chiefs; (b) the baggage animals and other transport appliances which certain native states hold in readiness for service in campaigns; (c) an estimate in lakhs of rupees or other round figures of the addition to the military expenditure of the Indian Government represented by these contingents as a whole, including the cadet corps recently established; (d) since the institution of this Imperial Service have any additions to, or diminution of, these forces been agreed upon with the States concerned.
